decided to make a tutorial for my method of background stars, just in case anyone wanted to see it (i was REALLY bored last week ).
this is in no way the right way, or the only way to do this, its just my method.
also, if the finished product is still too colorful for you, you could always repeat the clouds/difference clouds steps.

Nice tutorial, but I can't tell if adding the cloud layer really makes a difference; I cranked up the brightness and still couldn't see it in the final result. XD
Either way, this is pretty helpful for newbies who want a quick background for their space art, but more recently, I still prefer giving everything I realistically can a personal touch. ^^ It only takes an hour for me to dot out all the stars I need in a canvas, and if I want fictional constellations, I can do that too. XD
